Clydeside Distillery – Glasgow's Whisky Gem on the River Clyde

A Glasgow distillery itself, the **Clydeside Distillery** brings Glasgow's proud industrial and maritime heritage back to life while transporting visitors through one of Scotland's most exciting cities. Located in the heart of Glasgow, this is the must-visit destination for whisky enthusiasts and history lovers.

About Clydeside Distillery

Clydeside Distillery was launched in 2017, a fitting moment to mark whisky distillation's return to the city of Glasgow after more than a century. The distillery is hosted within the magnificently restored **Pumphouse**, a Victorian monolith that was an integral part of the old shipbuilding industry in Glasgow. Erected in 1877 for the regulation of entrance to the Queen's Dock, to which ocean-going vessels could sail directly from the open sea, the Pumphouse played a vital role within the Glasgow city trade network that joined Scotland with the world.

Present day, Clydeside Distillery introduces the latest-making kit and also still contains a nostalgic touch for old city, in this case, Glasgows past. It is currently an active distillery with great views of Finnieston Crane and SSE Hydro arena into which it has fast become an important part of whisky production and tourist route for Glasgow.

Whisky Production

Clydeside Distillery produces Lowland-style single malt Scotch whisky made from local ingredients. The process is hands-on careful: from malting the barley, through to maturing in oak casks. Although young, the team is committed to creating a light, elegant whisky that captures the heritage and location of the distillery.

Whether you’re a whisky aficionado or a curious newcomer, Clydeside Distillery offers a range of immersive experiences:
